My neighbors keep on twitchin’ ’bout my Rock ’n’ Roll

The dishes in the kitchen dance ’n’ skate ’n’ fall

Hell no… that ain’t enough… I like to play to win

I wanna shake the earth and make the sky cave in

So I bagged it on home from the amplifier store

My salesman empathized why I just had to add more

I wanna crank it up to make the plasterboard flake

A half a million watts… to start an earthquake!

I wanna start an earthquake!  Earthquake!

I’m out to shake the world with the music I make

I wanna rock it up to where it never dies down

So help me keep it rollin’ on in your hometown

We’ll start an earthquake!  Earthquake!

This system is so bitchin’ and it’s made to please

An American dream built by the Japapanese

Plays Eighties tho’ I’m lately into Fifties grease

A lady’s hot for ‘Sting’… I made her scream “POLICE!”

The sirens start to wail… I’m sailin’ in a dream

I’m drippin’ while I’m flippin’ ‘Yellow Submarine’

The Doors come crashin’ down… I eat a cloud o’ dust

I’m frisked ’n’ cuffed!… a roust!… don’t shoot!  This is a bust!

I wanna start an earthquake!  Earthquake!

I’m out to shake the world with the music I make

I wanna rock it up to where it never dies down

So help me keep it rollin’ on in your hometown

We’ll start an earthquake!  Earthquake!

The prosecutor’s cryin’ soon I’ll fry in hell

They’re dy’na tie me down inside a padded cell

I’m jivin’ testimony on my own behalf

The jury when they hear me moan ’n’ groan ’n’ laugh

His Honor’s off my humor… he don’t catch my drift

I’m tryin’ to explain this world just needs a lift

“You set me up in jail you make a big mistake…

Judge let me out on bail to start an earthquake!”

I wanna start an earthquake!  Earthquake!

I’m out to shake the world with the music I make

I wanna rock it up to where it never dies down

So help me keep it rollin’ on in your hometown

We’ll start an earthquake!  Earthquake!

Ooh man I’m in a jam… the bailiff reads the vote

It’s twenty years in Quentin an’ I clutch my notes

My head begins to sweatin’ while I'm turnin’ blue

My body starts a-shakin’ an’ I come unglued

They drug me off to prison… threw away the key

Cheap jeans and stripèd T-shirts… well that just ain’t me

I couldn’t wait no more so I just had to break

I’m playin’ on the lam an’ I’m gonna start an earthquake!

I'm gonna start an earthquake!  Earthquake!

I’m out to shake the world with the music I make

I wanna rock it up to where it never dies down

So help me keep it rollin’ on in your hometown

We’ll start an earthquake!  Earthquake!
